LEARNER PRIVACY

This notice explains the personal information used by S.V. Crown Academy, operated by S.V. Crown Ltd, Ghana. Contact: info@svcrownltd.com; +233 20 887 7675; P.O. Box AN10444, Accra North, Ghana.

Information used by the Academy

Learner accounts contain the details supplied at registration, including a name or username and email address. The learning platform records enrolment, lesson progress, quiz attempts and results, completion and certificate records. Where a course requires them, it also holds written or practical submissions, assessment decisions, feedback and personal attestations. Enquiries contain the contact details and message you choose to provide.

Why information is used

These records support account access, delivery of the requested learning, assessment, learner support, certificate eligibility and verification, and protection of the service. Required account fields are identified on the form; without them the account or requested learning service may not function. Do not include real customer financial records, identity documents, passwords or confidential institutional information in learning exercises or general enquiries.

Access, storage and service providers

Learning records are held in the Academy’s WordPress and LMS systems. Authorised Academy administrators and assessors can access the records needed for support and assessment. Website hosting and email services also process information necessary to operate the platform. External websites, WhatsApp and externally hosted media have their own privacy arrangements when you choose to use them.

Contact us for information about the service providers, hosting locations and retention arrangements relevant to your records before providing sensitive information.

Retention and privacy requests

Information should be kept only for the purposes for which it is needed, subject to applicable legal and assessment-record requirements. Stopping a course does not automatically remove an earned certificate or its supporting assessment history. Contact the Academy to ask what is held about you, request correction, raise an objection, discuss deletion or withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing. Identity will need to be checked before private records are disclosed or changed.

Your rights in Ghana

Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) provides rights relating to personal data. You can raise a concern with the Academy and may complain to Ghana’s Data Protection Commission. See the Act 843 text for the applicable legal provisions.

Account security and recovery copies

The Academy uses local controls to limit failed sign-in attempts. These controls can process sign-in information such as an attempted account identifier, IP address, time and result. Recovery backups may contain account, learning, assessment and certificate records. Backup copies are currently kept with the Academy’s website hosting. Contact the Academy for the retention and processing arrangements applicable to your records.

Cookies and security

The website uses cookies for sign-in and essential learning-platform functions. External services may apply their own cookie policies when you choose to visit them. Any introduction of optional analytics or advertising tracking requires appropriate information and consent controls.

Use a strong unique password and sign out on shared devices. Report suspected unauthorised access promptly; never send your password to support.
